Your Oral Hygiene Visit:
• Depending on your unique situation and dental health your oral hygiene visit may include several combinations of these services. • Assess your periodontal (gum) tissue. • Evaluate existing dental restorations (fillings). • Examine and screen for oral cancer. • Review and update medical history. • Clean and scale teeth to remove plaque, tartar and stains. • Instruction on proper brushing and flossing. • Evaluate possible cosmetic enhancements to your smile. • X-rays to evaluate teeth for decay. • Referral to specialist for specific treatment. The time between these visits is also dependent on your personal needs.
Your Childs First Visit:
Your child’s first visit is usually scheduled at or around the age of three. Depending on the number of teeth present, and the ability to cooperate we will combine some of the following.
• Count the child’s teeth to make sure proper eruption pattern is taking place. • Polish their teeth. • Apply fluoride. • X-rays if decay is suspected to be present.
It is important that you child’s first experience is a positive one, so we make every effort to make your child feel comfortable and in control.
Pit and Fissure Sealants for Children
A dental sealant is a plastic- like material that helps block decay causing bacteria from lodging on the biting surfaces of your child’s back teeth. They are usually only applied to the permanent molars that appear at age 6 and 12.
They are placed by our hygienist usually at a special appointment time.
Sealants can last for many years, but occasionally we might need to replace them, or add a new layer. |

Teeth Bleaching
Tooth whitening is a bleaching process that lightens and brightens the enamel of your teeth. We make custom fitted appliances for you to line with the whitening solution. Each session should last at least 2 hours, but some patients wear the trays while sleeping. The total treatment time is approximately three weeks. Periodic visits to out office to check on your progress during this treatment phase should be expected.
Porcelain Veneers
The veneer is a thin, semi- translucent shell custom made to be bonded over your front teeth. The veneer can be used to close spaces, cover discolored teeth, or correct uneven, crooked teeth.
The advantage of porcelain veneer is the small amount of tooth that needs to be removed in order to place them on your tooth. They are strong, durable and they look great!
Crowns and Bridges
A crown, also called "a cap", is a tooth like covering of an existing tooth. A crown is needed when a tooth or filing breaks and a tooth needs to be brought back to normal function and aesthetics.
A bridge is a series of crowns joined together to cross a space where a tooth is missing.
Both of these treatments take more than one visit to complete.
Dental Implants
We as your dentist help coordinate the team approach needed for this treatment. The dental implant is a metal anchor, or cylinder that is placed in the jaw-bone by a trained specialist.
After a period of healing the dental implants can start to be restored. This is accomplished usually by our office in only two visits.
The dental implants can be used to help replace a single missing tooth, as well as help hold a denture in place.
